The Glass Menagerie is a memory piece told through the reflections and memories of its main character, Tom. Set in 1930 St. Louis, the story centers around the Wingfield family: the hard-working writer Tom, his nagging mother Amanda, and his painfully shy sister Laura. The Winfields are stagnant in the past and struggle to move towards a brighter future. Still, a "gentleman caller" visit for Laura may be the event that changes all their lives.

One of my personal favorite plays. In this production, we created the Wingfield apartment as written by Williams. Much of the walls were designed with white scrim and steel that we painted to look like the walls of the apartment so that when Tom talks about visiting the city, we could make the home fade away and showcase the brick structure of the city behind the set.
