Graduating from UCI in the Middle of a Pandemic
June 2020 — I’ve officially graduated with my MFA in Scenic Design from UC Irvine. It’s a weird time to be finishing school — everything feels uncertain with COVID, and the theatre world is on pause.
Some highlights:
I’ll be teaching Intro to Scenic Design online this fall as an Adjunct Lecturer.
Gretchen and I are moving to Chicago later this year. My hope is that when things start to open up, we’ll be in the right place at the right time.
With no summer theatre this year, I’m staying in Columbia, MO with my dad — the first summer I’ve spent here since undergrad.
Not the graduation I pictured, but it’s the start of a new chapter.
