About the apps.
Tools built from the work.
I’m Brandon PT Davis, a scenic designer and educator. These apps come from the recurring problems I encounter in the studio, classroom, and scene shop.
About my design practice
The problem comes before the code.
I’ve always been drawn to technology, automation, and better workflows. During graduate school at UC Irvine, even preparing a model for a 3D printer meant repeatedly translating architectural scale into millimeters. It was a small frustration—but exactly the kind that follows a designer through a career.
The same pattern appears everywhere: research images lose their sources, project archives become folder mazes, portfolios are rebuilt from scratch, and familiar calculations break concentration. AI did not give me that expertise. It lowered the technical barrier between recognizing those problems and building the tools I had been waiting for.
Studio brings that work together: the apps, the browser tools, and the articles about what I learn while building them.
What guides the work.
The workflow comes first.
A feature has to solve a recognizable problem in the studio, classroom, shop, or production process.
Your work stays yours.
Local storage, iCloud when it helps, no advertising, and no business built on a designer’s archive.
Built for the work at hand.
Apple apps and browser tools, each focused on the place where its workflow makes sense.
