Scenic Design for ¡Lotería: Game On! at Theatre SilCo

¡Lotería: Game On! — Theatre SilCo

May 2023 — I’m proud to share that my work as Scenic Designer for Theatre SilCo’s ¡Lotería: Game On! was featured in UCI Humanities News. The article highlights the contributions of UCI alumni at Theatre SilCo and describes the play as an immersive bilingual production that invited audiences of all ages into a colorful, imaginative world.

My design centered on transformation—shaping familiar environments into magical ones that captured the play’s spirit of discovery. The pillow fort sequence became a whimsical portal to another dimension, supported by collaborative lighting design and bold visual storytelling.

As a UCI alumnus, it’s deeply meaningful to see this work recognized within the broader conversation of community engagement and artistic vision. Scenic design in this context wasn’t just about building a set; it was about creating a space where imagination, language, and culture could thrive together.
