ModelUSD is available for Mac.

Start with a copy of your source model, check its dimensions and orientation, make any needed corrections, then export a clean USDZ.

Supported model files

ModelUSD opens USDZ, USD, GLB, glTF, FBX, and OBJ files. Native SketchUp files should first be exported from SketchUp as FBX, OBJ, GLB, or another supported format.

Keeping textures connected

Keep the model and its texture folder together when possible. If a referenced image is still missing, choose a replacement from the Surface panel.

Changing model size

Choose the measurement unit you know, then enter a new width, height, or depth. The other dimensions update proportionally so the model keeps its shape.

Fixing orientation

Use the axis controls to turn or flip the model, then recenter it and place it on the floor before exporting.

Understanding file size

Converting to USDZ does not automatically make every model smaller. Geometry and texture resolution still matter, so ModelUSD offers Original, Balanced, and Smallest export choices.

Protecting the original

Imported models are opened as local working copies. The original source file remains unchanged.
